How long does it take for a fever blister on your lip to heal & what's the best medication to use? - fever blister

By mistake, I have a lip balm Carmex to a friend and 2 days later, wounds appeared on my lip. What is the duration of cold sores and what is the best medicine to take? :-(

From beginning to be completely gone, it may take up to 2 weeks.

Over the counter Abreva try to keep hydrated to avoid cracking.

After he prepared for the next time, ask your doctor for a prescription of Valtrex. His material used for genital herpes, but it works very good for mouth sores. But you need to use immediately if you begin to feel that tingling sensation. Therefore you need at your fingertips. With Valtrex, pain, probably not even be shown, if all off quickly.

Then again ;-) do not share Carmex

Cold sores last about 2 weeks. I've never tried, but say it is a good treatment Abreva.

I've always vaseline ..... for me and my children And it is for large parts (small) and chapped lips, etc.. When you turn on the fever blister just before going to bed every night, you can disappear before you know it, and keep their hands of him, which they collect, even if the crust 's up, it's bad, that is .. Just keep applying petroleum jelly, that during the healing process ..... It is the most natural way to the "Owee go" and not all chemicals, as do many other things .. Even Chapstick is good, but for lip balm, you need to use pressure: with Vaseline, or just CUTIPA your fingers to be exact .... Good luck to you apply, and should take about a week to get rid of it ... Oh, and "Here's Wishing You & Yours wonderful, happy, healthy, peaceful and prosperous New Year too! Smile!

Sounds like that was exposed to the herpes virus, also known as fever blisters. It will probably be a week or longer to heal. Hers is the best bet to keep it moist to prevent cracking when it starts to dry. There are several medications that seems to help. Well, since you are prone to outbreaks must be investigated and known triggers. Try WebMD.com or something similar. There are many companies trying to earn money for healing and medicine, because they have not yet been made promises of a cure in 2 days.
